ABOUT

Actively working across architecture, spatial design, furniture, and installations.

New projects and inspiring conversations are always welcome
— feel free to reach out anytime.

Lim is an architecture and furniture designer based in Seoul.

His work explores how objects form relationships within structure.

Though fixed, form unfolds into layered meanings through interaction
with its surroundings — the work dwells at that threshold.

Root Architecture

Cities are rapidly changing, yet housing systems remain static.
This project seeks to bridge that gap by translating the organic generative principles of spontaneously formed village settlements into a contemporary architectural strategy.
Based on a circulation-oriented organizational logic, dwelling units incrementally attach along the generated paths, enabling the organic expansion and evolution of the overall housing cluster.

Shattered Diamond

128 discarded yo-yos are brought back to life through motion, forming a kinetic chandelier shaped by light and movement.
A single light source interacts with yo-yos driven by three motors, scattering light through their vertical motion in a 120-second cycle.
This rhythmic movement breathes life into the static structure, while the shifting flow of light reveals the cycles of trend and consumption.

Pollinator Series

This design, inspired by the cyclical nature of ecosystems originating from small organisms, forms the utility and relationship of the furniture through human interaction. The organic curves flow seamlessly, naturally completing the structure and form. This shape symbolizes the role of an intermediary that facilitates the cycle of relationships.

The Geometric Code of Humanity

Translating human existence into a universal language, this project reimagines the DNA transcription process as modular geometric structures. Installed at a symbolic birthplace of civilization, the architecture serves as a silent message intended for potential extraterrestrial contact.

Path

This project is a spatial artwork that seeks to restore the severed sensibility between nature and humanity, inviting reflection on the possibility of ecological transition. Through themes of circulation, balance, and modes of existence, it proposes a new awareness that resonates with the rhythms of nature beyond a life centered on consumption and control.

T.W.F.B

By reconfiguring the forgotten wartime bunker at Gyeonghuigung Palace, the design revives traces of conflict within everyday life and reimagines the space as a cultural venue in times of peace, while maintaining its potential to serve as an emergency shelter when necessary.
